Creative Weekends
Our Creative Weekends are an opportunity to participate in workshops with experienced creators and directors from the circus industry, and to apply what you've learned to a real-life experience through by working together with link-minded people.
We are excited to launch our brand-new "Creative Weekends" at the Circus Hub, running for the first time on the weekend of 22-23 May 2021.
This project was born from the desire from local performers to have more opportunities to practice creation, without the stress and pressure of having to produce and deliver a finished product, and to work with other local performers. The Creative Weekends are about doing what we love, creating!

Creation Project (Sunday)
The Sunday session will be an opportunity to practice creating, where you can apply what you have previously learned in the workshop. You will be allocated a group and given a brief to guide your creative project. You will have 3 hours to create a short circus piece with your group, and show your work-in-progress at the end. There will be an opportunity to exchange with the other participants at the end about your experience and learn from it.
In a positive and low-pressure environment, the creative project is the perfect time to practice creating and to try new ideas and processes. It is also a fantastic opportunity to work with new people and learn about different ways to approach creation in circus.
The workshop and project session are open to all levels of experience. The only prerequisite is to have a lot of enthusiasm and be willing to give it a go!
Bookings
Both days can be booked separately, but we highly recommend to attend both the workshop and creative session to make the most of the experience. Creating is a skill that needs to be learned, nourished, and practiced, so why not join us for an exciting weekend with people who share the same passion as you to get some extra experience!
Pricing
$30 for one day (workshop or project)
$45 for both days
We welcome the curious ones out there to join us to witness the result of the creative session on Sunday from 5.30pm and participate in the exchange afterwards (Free!)
