Circus arts offer an inclusive and
non-competitive environment which helps improve self-esteem, trust, concentration, coordination
and motor skills. It holds a special
appeal to youth (at risk),
and people with disabilities,
emotional, mental health, learning
or behavioural issues.
The Circus Hub collaborates with social agencies to provide social circus classes, tailored to the particular needs of students.
Our past projects include working with Wellington High School offering a unit standard course for at-risk year 11 students. We have also run one-off workshops for a range of community organisations working with at-risk young people.
We have provided term classes for WHS students with physical, intellectual and developmental delays. We have also worked with IDEA services Alpha Studio, Active and Aranui service users to provide social circus with an end of term show.
Our trainers can tailor a workshop or programme for your group. Get in touch to discuss options.
