INTRODUCTION WORKSHOPS FOR ADULTS
Intro to Aerials 

Saturday 7th December - 12.30 -1:55pm | $30

Have you always wanted to fly? Here's your chance! Introduction to Aerials is the starting point for beginners wanting to learn or try aerial circus skills.

This workshop will introduce the basics of aerial safety plus a foundation repertoire for aerial tissu (silks) and static trapeze techniques.

Intro to Chinese Pole

Get an intense workout by being introduced to the fundamentals to holding your body up on a vertical pole. This short course will introduce you to the basics and the various climbs, hangs, tricks and slides in Chinese pole will develop your strength, coordination and flow.

Please bring: Soft rubber soled shoes, jeans or other pants made with sturdy cotton fabric to protect your legs and help provide grip on the pole, long sleeved shirt to prevent burns.

Intro to Tumbling

This class is designed for students who are keen to gain knowledge of tumbling technique, balance, and spacial awareness in the air and on the ground.

Students will be introduced to tumbling (acrobatics) and different types of skills will be explored during this workshop.

This class is suitable for beginners and students will learn movements suitable to their abilities.

Intro to Contortion 

Saturday 7th December  11am -12:25pm | $30

Discover your flexibility potential by learning how to practice contortion safely. Students will go through an introduction to the basic positions for legs and back extensions, learn more about joint stability and active flexibility, as well as begin exploration to find their own personal style.

This class is suitable for beginners and students will learn movements suitable to their abilities.

Intro to Balancing

Equilibristics is all about balance and posture. Whether you want to improve your form, control, body-awareness, focus, or become an amazing tight-wire walker, equilibristics has something to offer you!

In class we will explore a range of balance apparatus (which may include: tight wire, slack rope, walking globe and rola-bola.), functional movements and conditioning that will help you feel more balance and poise both at the hub and in your everyday life.

Intro to Aerial Hoop (Lyra)

Come learn some of the specific techniques of aerial hoop, including hangs, positions, strength and flexibility moves, spins and swings.

Intro to Dance Trapeze

Single point trapeze allows swinging and spinning movements. There are lots of new possibilities and creative sequences.

In this class you will learn skills on and above the bar, as well as spinning techniques. 

Intro to Adaigo

Adagio is a wonderful way to build trust in others as well as your own self confidence. Students will be introduced to adagio and learn the basics to depend on each other and to allow them to support their body weight. Different types of skills will be explored during this workshop.

This class is suitable for beginners and students will learn movements suitable to their abilities.

Intro to Hand Balance  

Sunday 15th December    12.30pm -1:55pm | $30

Learning the art of hand-balancing provides great strength and precision training. The classes will help teach students how to achieve the right posture required to hold stable handstands. Students will learn different leg positions while learning the basics of balancing on their hands, heads or elbows.

Intro to Aerial Rope

This introduction to rope workshop is designed to introduce you to the art of aerial rope while building confidence and good fundamentals. Through a different selection of movements, the students will learn to control their apparatus, build strength and improve their coordination, flexibility and flow.
This class focuses on aerial rope and the basic techniques involved in learning this aerial art.

Intro to Hula Hoop

Hula Hoop for all levels.
Re visit this universal childhood classic and learn to hula hoop. The class will cover a wide range of skills including body hooping, manipulation and dance using one or more hoops. Hula hooping is a good way to develop coordination and body awareness and also offers a good and fun alternative core fitness training.

This class is suitable for beginners and students will learn movements suitable to their abilities.

Intro to Duo Trapeze

This class will focus on the basic techniques that are specific to duo trapeze. We will go through some of the essential basic principles to building a strong connection between partners. Learn some of the tips to use efficiently your energy, such as working with gravity, the swing and bounce of the trapeze.
You will learn how to make partner work feel a lot easier and build strong confidence in each other. 

You do not need a partner.

For flyers: Be able to hold your bodyweight and do leg lifts.

For the catchers: Be able to stay in a catcher position with someone else’s bodyweight for a prolonged time.

Intro to Duo Lyra (Aerial Hoop)

Duo lyra is the perfection intersection of strength and grace. We will use various elements of synchronicity, base and flyer movements and mirror imagery with an acrobatic partner during the class.

Recommended you have done some solo lyra work prior but all levels are welcome, you can do duo lyra if you are at basic knee hang level, through to more complicated shapes for a comfortable solo artist.

Intro to Cyr Wheel

Come try cyr wheel, one of the most unique circus skills around. You will get dizzy but our expert trainer Michael will start you off slow to give you a taste of spinning. Please note as we only have limited sized wheels so you must be at least 5’4 to ride.

Intro to Aerial Straps

This workshop focuses on introducing the foundation movements of aerial straps. It's suitable for beginners.

A good level of fitness and shoulder strength is recommended to make the most of the class.
