Pay Rates

Agreed rates are:

Lead Teacher rate $45 per hour
Assistant rate $30 per hour
Allowance for teacher providing own gear $5 (e.g. Valerie providing low flying equipment, tania providing hoops)
Riggers rate $45 per hour
Gear maintenance $30 per hour
Administration $20 per hour
Administration tier two $25 per hour

The fees paid per class depend on the number of students as follows:
0-8 students = 1 teacher
9-12 students = 1 teacher + 1 assistant
13-16 students = 2 teachers
17-19 = 2 tutors + 1 assistant
20-24 = 3 tutors
In some cases the tutors have negotiated to split the fees 50/50 rather than have a teacher & assistant rate.

Where class numbers are insufficient to pay the target rates a negotiation takes place which may result in:
1) tutors accepting a lower rate
2) class being cancelled
3) the class running at a loss

Factors that may come into play are whether the class is a core trust offering, previous discussions, the classes history and the overall profit / loss of the class block. Negotiations may also be held into rates when enrolments appeared to justify one rate of funding but in the end don't. In this case the tutor may have been engaged on the understanding they would be paid one rate and that may no longer be possible.

Admin rates still need to be clarified but broadly speaking day-to-day admin tasks are considered to be tier one and strategic admin are considered to be tier two. The same person may do a combination of both.

Examples of tier one are:
- class promotion
- class liaison
- managing class lists & fees
- contact list management
- data management

Examples of tier two
- fundraising applications
- developing strategic partnerships.
