Trustees

The current Wellington Circus Trust trustees are Alice Capper-Starr, Deborah Pope, Andrea Knox, Eileen McNaughton and Jenny Ritchie.

Alice Capper-Starr

Alice used to run Circus House in Newtown. She also teaches some of the current classes.

Deborah Pope

Deborah Pope has been involved in the world wide resurgence of New Circus and Theatre in England, Europe, Australia and Brazil.

She is a director, teacher and performer with 30 years of international experience and awards, most recently Associate Director of Circus OZ. She has wide experience of circus events and festivals from production to performance.

She is back in New Zealand teaching and passing on her skills and knowledge to aerialists of all types and persuasions. She is also establishing her own production company here exploring new circus works in New Zealand.

Andrea Knox

Andrea has been involved in circus activities for four years, coming from an background of seeking out adrenalin wherever she can find it.

Eileen McNaughton

Eileen keeps the whole organisation running, at the same time as running a small business and family. We suspect she doesn’t sleep.

Jenny Ritchie

Jenny is a professionally trained Circus Aerialist with a background in gymnastics and costume design.

Specialising in Web rope and Cloud swing, she has performed for many corporate, private and festival events throughout New Zealand, Australia and the Cook Islands.

She has also spent the last 5 years as a leading Aerialist in ‘Maui, one man against the gods’ and the last 3 years as a performer with ‘Mauri To’, mixing her aerial performances with the enchanting and powerful live vocals of Toni Huata. More information about Jenny is available at her website, www.suspend.co.nz
